Titania was obtained by a new synthesis route which combines
the sol-gel method with reaction at self-generated pressure.
Two kind of gels with different titanium source were prepared,
one was conformed by tetra isopropyl ortho titanate, water
and isopropyl alcohol and produced titania in anatase phase
in all experiments. The other gel using titanium tetrachloride,
silice and isopropyl alcohol produced titania in anatase
phase or a mixture anatase-rutile depending on the reactant’s
ratios used in the initial gels. The synthesized semiconductors
were characterized by DRX and UV-Vis to determine its crystallinity
level and optic properties.
