Debido al rápido incremento en la demanda del ancho de banda, los sistemas de multiplexación por división de longitud de onda (WDM) han sido grandemente empleados en enlaces trans-oceánicos al igual que en redes continentales y metropolitanas. En este artículo se hará uso del modelo general de parámetros de Stokes para calcular el desempeño debido a la combinación de los efectos de polarización PMD, (dispersión por polarización), PDL (la pérdida por polari-zación) y PDG (Ganancia por polarización) en sistemas WDM.

Due to the express increment in the demand of the band width, the multiplexing systems for di-vision of wave longitude (WDM) they have been largely employees in trans-oceanic connec-tions the same as in continental and metropolitan nets. In this work use of the general pattern of parameters of Stokes will be made to calculate the acting due to the combination of the polari-zation effects PMD, PDL and PDG in systems WDM.
